Welcome to Earl Elementary School PTO Webpage

Who we are:

We are parents who strive to provide an enriched experience at Earl Elementary School. We hope that we can promote a closer relationship between the home and the school, resulting in a cooperative effort so that parents and teachers may work together in the education of our children. We provide funding and parent volunteers for programs and activities that support the students, teachers, administration and families at our school.

Your support via the PTO helps fund numerous activities and projects throughout the year. We financially support in its entirety or in some capacity; Hawk folders, agenda books, school assemblies, Outstanding Sixth Grader awards, Earl Senior Scholarship, family roller skating party, sixth grade picnic, Camp Innabah, school and classroom gifts, music programs, Grandparents Day, Craft Night, as well as many other activities/projects which arise.

Committees

Book Exchange Jen Goffredo/Chairperson

This committee supports our students by encouraging reading whereby students are permitted to trade books with other students.  This occurs during the school day at specified times during the year.

Campbells Soup Labels/Box Tops for Education Kim Rogers/Chairperson

Campbell labels and Box Tops for Education provide an opportunity to raise funds for our school based on the volume of labels we collect.  Committee members organize the labels and box tops which are brought to school.  During the course of the year special events are planned to increase awareness and contributions of the labels.  The program has allowed us to purchase educational items for the classrooms.  If you are interested in learning more about Box Tops please check out www.boxtops4education.com.

Craft Night Beth Haring/Chairperson

This committee organizes an annual craft night which is typically held in December.  This event is free to all the Earl students and is a fun time to spend with your child not only creating crafts but special memories.

Homeroom K-3 Kelly Heimbach/Chairperson
Homeroom 4-6 Erin Bennett/Chairperson

This committee organizes the homeroom parents for each grade.  They provide support to the homeroom parents who are primarily responsible for the Halloween, Christmas and Valentine's Day parties.  Homeroom parents work with the teachers to determine the needs for each party which typically include snacks, crafts and games.

Hospitality

Market Day Vicky Hillegass/Chairperson

Market Day is a monthly fundraising program.  Parents have the opportunity to buy quality food which is picked up on a specific date after school.  Orders are placed via a flyer or internet.  A percentage of the proceeds benefit  Earl school.  The Market Day committee organizes the ordering and distribution of food once received.  If you are interested in learning more about Market Day please check out www.marketday.com.

Redner's Save-A-Tape Program/Ink Cartridge Recycling  Deb Eck/Chairperson

This program is an easy way for parents to contribute to Earl School.  A percentage of all grocery receipts are donated to the school.  The program does require parents to sign up for a Save-A-Tape card but it is easy and free. Send in your empty ink cartridges.  Proceeds benefit the Earl computer lab.

Santa Shoppe Marsha Bish/Chairperson

The Santa Shoppe gives the Earl student an opportunity to holiday shop for family and friends.  The event occurs at a specific time and date in December during the school day.  The committee organizes the merchandise, volunteers and helps the children with their shopping.

Committee members provide appreciation gifts and cards to the Earl Staff on selected occasions.  In addition, they provide "sunshine" to students who may be hospitalized, have a lengthy illness or have endured a tragedy.

Ways and Means  Kim Evans/Chairperson

This committee is integral to the PTO in determining the focus of fundraising efforts.  They evaluate numerous suggestions from board members and parents to determine its direction for the school year.  The efforts of this committee provide the major financial support for Earl School projects and activites throughout the year.  The committee welcomes your ideas and suggestions.

I'm New to Earl Elementary

The PTO Board members would first like to welcome you and your family to Earl Elementary.  We hope that your child will have an easy transition and come to love Earl.  We would encourage you to participate in any capacity; a little help goes a long way and we cannot do it without you.  Or as a famous comedian once said " Success in life has nothing to do with what you gain in life or accomplish for yourself.  It's what you do for others."

We hope that you have found our website informative and useful.  However, if you should have any question about the role of the PTO, feel free to contact Heather Shaner 484-645-0577.

Volunteers

The various committees need your help.  As you can see Earl School is committed to providing many of the "extras" which we feel are important.  It is our goal to not only provide an enriched school experience but also experiences which your child will remember forever.  If you are interested in volunteering for any of the committees you can contact us via email or phone.  Please be aware that Boyertown School District does require two background checks.  You can contact Mrs. Thomas, school secretary, for the necessary forms.  The district will reimburse you for the associated fees.  These forms must be completed and on file in the office prior to assisting with any school event.

The PTO would like to thank all of our parents who have made the commitment to volunteer over the year.  It is vital that we have the support of the parents and we can't thank you enough for all of your efforts.
