Award Assemblies

On Wednesday and Thursday we had our service and scholastic award assemblies. This is a great opportunity for us to recognize our students for all their hard work during the school year. Congratulations to all our award winners!!!

Report Card Distribution

We will be mailing home report cards on June 18, 2010.

Main Office Summer Hours

Summer hours for the school are from 7:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. These hours will be in effect from June 14 to August 20, 2010. We will return to regular school hours on August 23, 2010.

Fall, Winter, and Spring Sports Physicals (Saturday, June 12, 2010)T

The PIAA requires only one sports physical for the entire the year. As a district we will only be offering physicals on June 12, 2010. We no longer offer physicals during the school year. Therefore, if you want to get a physical through the school, your child should attend on Saturday, June 12, 2010. If your child cannot attend those physicals, he/she has the option of getting the physical done with your family physician. See the attached form for more details.

World Language Change

Unfortunately, due to budgetary constraints, we will be unable to offer Spanish and German courses to our eighth graders for the 2010-2011 school year. As an alternative, we will be able to offer some English electives (Drama, Journalism, and Public Speaking) and Geography. Students that this affects were given a revised course registration form on Thursday. Please feel free to call us if you have any questions. The revised selections are due back to the homeroom teacher by Wednesday, May 19th. As always, thanks for your help. A letter that was sent home is attached.

Can Tab Kick-Off

The 2009 Unity Walk was the official kick-off for the Can Tab collection. The district has set a goal of collecting 6 million can tabs which will eventually be donated to the Ronald McDonald House. Why six million? That is the number of Jewish people killed during the Holocaust. Eleven million people were killed in all. Can Tabs can be dropped off at any Boyertown school, McDonalds, the United Way office, and many other locations in the district.

BASD Information Line

The Boyertown Area School District has a new information phone line available. Parents and students can call this line any time for specific information relating to weather, schedules, etc. The recordings will be directed to the students and their families.
