9th Grade Course Registration
Mrs. Shive, BASH counselor, will follow up with the ninth graders in science classes. Since we missed three of the four days originally schedule, we will be creating a new schedule for this process.
Grade 8 to 9 Scheduling
At this point, students should have turned in their course registration cards during English class. However, we still have some that are outstanding. If your child has not turned their card in yet, it can be dropped off in the guidance office. One of the counselors will sit down with you child to make sure it is completed correctly and is going to meet his/her future needs.
Grade 7 to 8 Scheduling
Scheduling materials were distributed to students during math classes on February 23rd and 25th and possible choices and sequences of courses were discussed. There was also a parent meeting on February 25th. Students should now turn the selection cards into their math teacher.
Support Our Troops
The Teens Who Care Club will be sponsoring a collection drive to support U.S. Marines stationed in Afghanistan. The sister of a West student is currently serving there and has shared that they have a particular need for two types of items. Therefore, we are collecting Purex 3-in-1 laundry sheets and battery-operated alarm clocks (new or used). Collection boxes will be placed in homerooms next week, and the drive will run through early March. Thank you so much for supporting this worthy cause if you are able!

Can Tab Kick-Off
The 2009 Unity Walk was the official kick-off for the Can Tab collection. The district has set a goal of collecting 6 million can tabs which will eventually be donated to the Ronald McDonald House. Why six million? That is the number of Jewish people killed during the Holocaust. Eleven million people were killed in all. Can Tabs can be dropped off at any Boyertown school, McDonalds, the United Way office, and many other locations in the district.
Math Hotline
The math hotline openned Monday, September 28. Students can call one of the numbers below or stop in to Junior High West in room 19 Monday-Thursday anytime between 7:00- 8:30. The hotline has two high school students and a math teacher available to help. Visitors should enter the building through the side door. This is a great opportunity for all the students to get help.
