Summer Career Portifolo

There are three components to the career portfolio for the sophomore year:

Career Matchmaker – Students will answer questions about their likes and dislikes to find careers that match up with their interests. Students will meet with Mrs. Groff in the school counseling department to complete this online activity.

College Visitation and Reflective Essay – In October, all students will be provided with the opportunity to visit a postsecondary school, including four-year colleges and universities, trade and technical schools, and community colleges. A reflective essay will be written in conjunction with English class as the culminating project for this activity.

 Decision Making and Career Research – In the fall of the sophomore year, students will take the PLAN test, which is a “pre-ACT” test focusing on career preparation and improving academic achievement. During health classes, students will research three careers of interest and write career and life goals based on the results from the PLAN test.
