I would like to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Kelly Mason and I’m the new principal at Pine Forge Elementary. I am absolutely thrilled to be here and very much look forward to a successful year with our wonderful students and staff.
I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Muhlenberg College with a double major in History and Elementary Education. After graduating from Muhlenberg I moved to New Jersey and taught first grade. While teaching in New Jersey, I earned my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Fairleigh Dickinson University. After becoming engaged to my husband, Mark, I moved back to Pennsylvania and accepted a teaching position in the Nazareth Area School District teaching first grade and eventually moved to second grade.
Before coming to Boyertown, I was an elementary principal in New Jersey. I have been in BASD since 2010 as the principal of New Hanover Elementary School and also an assistant principal at the high school.
As a teacher, principal, and mother of two little boys, Adam and Jared, I have worked hard to create a caring atmosphere at school and at home. I will model these values, beliefs, and attitudes to continue the caring, family environment at Pine Forge. A love of learning is the foundation for success and my goal as principal is to ensure that everyone is committed to sharing the joy of learning so that our students become eager, curious, lifelong learners.
I am proud to be the principal of a school that is committed not just to education, but to our children. The home and school partnership is one of the most powerful tools there is in the development of a child. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of any assistance.
I am feeling very fortunate to be joining the Pine Forge family. I look forward to a very successful and fulfilling school year and I am excited about the opportunity to be working with your child(ren).
