• Hi! Welcome to 4th grade at Washington Elementary. I am thrilled to be working with the fourth grade team at WES and am looking forward to leading the learning experience for some terrific kids. The 2008 - 2009 school year was my first official year at WES -- though I did spend 12 weeks working with your sensational sixth grade team in the winter of 2008. I've come to think of WES as my second home and the staff and students as my second family.  I am very proud to be a part of the WES community.

I am a proud Boyertown alumnus -- once a bear, always a bear! I hold a Bachelors of Science Degree in Communications with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism from Ithaca College. That means I was a journalist before I decided to become a teacher. I worked for several years as a successful radio talk show producer in Philadelphia, PA and Raleigh, NC before I decided to stay home and be a full-time mom. It was then, through my volunteer efforts at my children's school, that I became passionate about a career in education.

I have completed the teacher certification program at Drexel University (go Dragons!) and earned a Masters Degree in the Science of Instruction in 2010. Since then I have earned a certificate in Special Populations through Augustana College and achieved Masters +45 credit hours of learning.

I am a resident of the Daniel Boone Area School District and the proud mother of two terrific boys. My oldest is attending Loyola University Maryland as an accounting major.  His younger brother attends NC State University in Raleigh, NC where he studies Sustainable Agriculture. We are beach enthusiasts, sports fanatics, avid readers and love to travel.

Fourth grade is an exciting year for many students -- but can be a difficult transition, too. I have high expectations and am committed to helping each student achieve their personal best.
