•  Course Description

Honors Geometry is designed to be a fast-moving, rigorous course that challenges the brightest students in their introductory studies of Geometry. Geometry is the study of points, segments, lines, triangles, polygons, circles, solid figures, and their associated relationships as a mathematical system.

Honors courses require students to thoroughly understand the concepts covered in prior courses and be able to apply them on demand. Most of these concepts will generally not be reviewed in the course. Students will be expected to apply their knowledge to open-ended and non-routine problems. Students will sometimes be expected to learn material by working with their teammates and/or solving problems on their own. Students are expected to be highly self-motivated, taking full responsibility for their own learning and seeking help when needed.
