In an effort to make students more aware of their behavior and reward positive behaviors, we are using the following behavior plan for the entire class.  The system is set up such that each child will have a popsicle stick labeled with their own name. In addition there will be a class set of cans, one green, yellow, and red.  When the students arrive at school, they will put their stick in the green can.  If the child exhibits a behavior of concern, he/she will be given a verbal warning.  If the behavior continues, they will move their stick to the yellow can.   The stick will be moved to the red can, if the behavior does not stop or other behaviors are started.  If a child’s stick is moved to the red can, they will spend 5 minutes in a timeout situation so we can talk about the behavior.  Additional 5 minute increments in timeout will occur if the behaviors do not stop.  A chart will be placed in your child’s folder every month.  I will mark the chart with either a green, yellow, or red dot at the end of each day so you can track your child’s behavior and discuss it at home.  Please do not remove the chart from the folder.  At the end of the week, any child whose stick was in the green can each day will receive 5 bear bucks.
