Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Joseph M Repko
Good day! This will be my 32nd year of teaching English in the district. It's been an enjoyable ride, for the most part. The students, staff, and overall community have been supportive and focused on student growth and achievement. I've been blessed to be a part of it all and continue to be blessed as we go through these changing times.
I am originally from Pottstown and graduated from Saint Pius X High School and, later on, Ursinus College with a B.A. in English. I earned my Master's degree in Education from Gratz College. I live in Oley, PA and am happily married to Megan, my wife, and have four children (all boys!): Michael (23), Nicholas (21), Samuel (18), and Aaron (12). It's a busy life, but we wouldn't have it any other way!
My favorite hobby is fishing, which is much like teaching. You just keep casting your line with hope- the hope of making a connection. Many times you do and sometimes you do not. The key is to keep casting, and never lose hope. There's a surprise more often than not, and that is one of the things that keeps me wading in the stream. In order to teach, you have to learn- learn from your students. Learning takes place when relationships develop. I look forward to those experiences each year.
I appreciate your time, energy, and commitment to education and your son/daughter. Working together is how we get it all done!
Best wishes and be kind to others and yourself.
