    Mr. Jeffrey K Brunner  

    Mr. Jeffrey Brunner is the director of the 7th, 8th, and 9th grade choir program at Boyertown Junior High West in the Boyertown Area School District.  At West he directs five choirs, teaches general music, and directs the musical productions.  Prior to his current position, he directed the 5th and 6th grade choirs and taught K- 6 general music at Earl and Pine Forge Elementary within the Boyertown district. He was appointed the director of Choristers, a chorus within the Berks Youth Chorus (formerly Berks Classical Children Chorus) of Reading, PA in 2008.  In June 2009, he and fellow directors organized and directed the BC3 Summer Sing, an annual summer camp in downtown Reading, PA open at no charge to any student in grades 4-6 that possesses a love for singing.  In October 2013, Mr. Brunner's choir, the BYC Choristers, was selected to be a choir to perform at the ACDA- PA fall conference. 

    Mr. Brunner earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education, cum laude, from Mansfield University in Mansfield, Pennsylvania, and earned a Master of Art in Music Education from Teacher’s College at Columbia University in New York City. He has studied conducting with Peggy Dettwiler at Mansfield University, William Weinert at the Eastman School of Music, and Vance George of the San Francisco Symphony Choir at Westminster Choir College. He studied voice with Dorothy Stone in New York City and Tammy Black in Bally, Pennsylvania. He is an active member of PMEA and ACDA where he has presented repertoire sessions. As of 2013, Mr. Brunner holds a two year term on the ACDA- PA executive board as Repertoire and Standards Chair for Youth and Community Children’s Choir.  Mr. Brunner has been a guest conductor of several middle school and elementary honor choirs across Pennsylvania and New York, including Districts 8, 9, 11 and Dauphin County.  He will be conducting his first Sr. County Festival in January 2014 in Perry County.
