• Dear Parents/Guardians and Prospective Grade 7, 8, and 9 Students:
As a prospective Grade 7, 8 or 9 student, you will be required to select a book for a summer reading requirement from a short, carefully chosen list of interesting and high quality novels. The purpose of the summer reading is to continue the development of your reading strategies and to support vocabulary enrichment as well as spark your interest in some great books.
Students entering Grade 7, 8 or 9 will read a book that will prepare you for thoughtful discussion in your English class. Students entering Grade 10 will choose one book from the English reading list. Tenth grade students who are taking AP American history need to read a book for that class.
These are all popular books and are available in a variety of places; we have contacted the Boyertown Public Library as well as local booksellers to ask them to have these books in stock.
There is not a summer reading assignment for incoming 6th graders.

Summaries of the tenth grade books and other information regarding the ninth and grade requirements can be found on the senior high summer reading page.
