Hello, welcome to my webpage.
My name is Stephanie Stamm, and I have been teaching Art at West since 2001.
To tell you a little bit about myself, I enjoy traveling and have been to Spain, the Caribbean, Italy, France, various places in the US and my favorite, Turkey. In 2012 I was selected to take part in a teachers fellowship to Turkey. 30 teachers were lucky enough to be chosen from across the United States to be a part of this amazing experience. (I have 3 photo albums full of pictures I would be glad to show you!) If you've never been to Turkey, I highly recommend it. The Turks love Americans and are thrilled to use their English skills to talk to a native speaker. The country is beautiful and so different in every locale, and the food is spectacular. The shopping will blow your mind, as well as the exoticness of the culture and people.
Also, I have had several articles published in both "School Arts" as well as "Arts and Activities" magazines. These articles deal with my Art lessons from here at West.
Additionally, in 2017 I was a National Art Education Convention presenter. My presentation dealt with how other Art teachers can teach the students in their Art Club how to make things to brighten the lives of others and thereby become life-long givers. Some examples of things my Art club, 8th Grade Select Crafts, has done is hand sew "Huggy Bears" for children with cancer and the BAFR fire company to comfort children in stressful situations. They have sewn eyeglasses cases and pillows for patients in the Reading Hospital, they made bird feeders for their teachers to celebrate spring, and created placemats for the Animal Rescue League of Berks County to give to families who adopt shelter pets. These endeavors by the students have been featured on Channel 69 News, The Boyertown Times, The Pottstown Mercury and the Reading Eagle newspapers.
I enjoy facilitating the students in taking their joy of Art to the highest level they can. I will often enter them in Art contests to further foster and support their fantastic talents. The students here at West are very creative and artistic, it is a pleasure to teach them.
In addition to traveling I enjoy photography, creating awesome things of all sorts, baking and spending time with my husband and Collie, Sophie.
Have a great day!
