New Hanover Elementary

Welcome! I am the Reading Specialist at NHUF! I received my undergraduate degree in early childhood and elementary education at Kutztown University in May 2005. This is my 15th year as an educator. My teaching career began as a fourth grade teacher of Culpeper County Schools in Virginia. The following year, I taught third grade to expand my educational repertoire. In 2007, I accepted a third grade position at Gilbertsville Elementary School, which allowed me to move back home to be closer to family. In 2011, upon receiving my masters degree in reading at Kutztown University, I accepted a position at New Hanover Elementary as an Intervention Teacher. In 2013, I accepted the Reading Specialist postition at NHUF, and have been happily enjoying this role ever since! Outside of the classroom, I am the proud mama of three beautiful girls, Makayla, Emma, and Olivia, and the wife of 14 years to Chris. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and cooking.
