Welcome to 5th grade!
This year in ELA we will work with comprehension strategies, word work, and write a variety of stories. Read, Read, Read.
In math knowing your basic facts is a MUST. Make sure to know multiplication and division facts thru the 12 times table. We will work with place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geometry, and a big fraction unit.
In science we will study sources of energy, nutrition, levers & pulleys, and ecosystems.
In social studies we will focus on American History starting with Native Americans thru the American Revolution.
