Hello! Welcome to my webpage for second grade! I am excited to be teaching this year in second grade - it is my twentieth year in education, and I can't wait to see where the year takes us in G2! I love being creative . . . some of my best ideas come from kids' inspiration "in the moment" of teaching, responding to a variety of learning styles and needs in the classroom, while other ideas are tried, tested, and true!
I graduated from Moravian College with a degree in Elementary Education and continued my education at West Chester University, receiving my Masters in Education in Literacy, allowing me to be a Reading Specialist as well. I love involving kids in books in all subject areas as we learn. Students are often taught in small groups so that I can focus on strengths and needs. I have experience in grades K-6, and second grade is certainly a FUN place to be!
My own family is "in district" and I value BASD as my children enter their classrooms. I know that teachers work hard for kids, and I am ready to work hard for your child, encouraging, questioning, nurturing, and challenging them with learning moments, both educational and life-related.
Let's have a great school year together!
There is always something to LEARN and something to OFFER in our classroom community!
