Bear-A-Thon Pick-Up Instructions
Because of the great participation in this event, pick-up is always difficult. Please carpool as much as possible. If you are picking up a group of students in multiple grade levels, please arrange to meet at the time and area designated for the oldest student pickup. Thanks for your cooperation.
In the interest of safety, we will be using a staggered pick up system. We are asking you to pick-up as follows:
- Sixth grade students will be dismissed first at 9:00 PM. They will be picked up in the side (tennis court) lot. When picking up in the tennis court lot, use the entrance/exit nearest to the tennis courts to both come in and leave the lot.
- Eighth grade students will be dismissed at 9:10 PM and will also be picked up in the back (gym) parking lot. Please use the east entrance to enter the pick-up line. If you arrive early, please park in the gym lot to wait so more cars can get off of Route 73. Please follow the attached map.
- Seventh graders will be dismissed at 9:30 PM. They will be picked up in the back (gym) parking lot. Please use the east entrance to enter the pick-up line. Seventh grade parents/guardians, please try not to arrive earlier than 9:20 PM. You will simply be stuck in the long line of cars waiting to pick up eighth graders.
Thank you everyone for your cooperation and patience!

Students must ride the bus home, but are welcome to come back with an adult chaperone. Thank you for understanding.

Message from Mr. Ruppert- Parent Pickup
Please Be Careful!
I have noticed that our afternoon pick-up has become dangerous as several cars are not following the safety rules that we have in place. If you arrive prior to dismissal, please park in a space to wait. As you enter the oval, stay to the right and follow the circle around to the front doors. Do not create a “double line” as it puts everyone at risk. Finally, do not speed. Thank you for your cooperation.
New East Entry Procedure:
In a continuing effort to keep our school as safe as possible, we are implementing a new procedure for entering East. Please see the instructions below:
When you get to the front doors, please press the button on the call box to the left to request entry as you have done before.
When we respond, please identify yourself, your child’s name and the purpose of the visit.
As always, please have photo ID available for verification purposes.
Thank you for your support and understanding as we work to keep everyone at East safe.
