An enrollment study conducted by the Pennsylvania Economy League and a facilities study show two things: 1) rising enrollment and 2) lack of space to accommodate the projected 650 additional students over the next decade (average of several different estimates). We currently have 7,100 students.
Adding to this issue is a new Pennsylvania law indicating that school districts were required to submit some type of plan to the Department of Education by October 1, 2012 in order to receive funds for building or renovation. Our District is eligible to receive approximately 20-25% funding of the costs of an approved plan. The District made the submission on time and is proceeding with a project to renovate and add additional classrooms at the Boyertown Senior High School.
