Degrees and Certifications:
Welcome to Our Class!
I am pleased to take this opportunity to introduce myself and welcome your child to our class. I look forward to the upcoming challenges and celebrations that teachers, parents and students will experience together!
I have a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Alvernia University, with an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Delaware. I worked as a social worker then became a teacher while serving in the Peace Corps in The Republic of Vanuatu which is located in the South Pacific. I’m grateful for both experiences because I know I love working with children and absolutely love teaching!
My family keeps me very busy. Sometimes it feels like I have a second job as their driver. We have 4 children, Julia, Nathan, Giavonna, and Anthony. They like to play basketball, soccer, tennis, and run cross country and track. They also tell me that they play instruments, but I haven’t heard or seen those come out in months. We have a crazy black lab mix dog named, Winnie. She is named after one of my favorite books, Winnie the Pooh.
I believe that a good learning experience is built on a cooperative effort among parent, child and teacher. My expectations for conduct and academic standards are high, as we build a classroom community that is challenging, supportive and enjoyable. With your support, we can look forward to a productive, creative and fun year together.
Again, welcome. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. You may call and leave a message on my voicemail during the school day, or e-mail me at any time. I will respond as soon as I am able. I look forward to getting to know you and your child.
