My name is Jeanie Frecon, and I love teaching children! I have wanted to be a teacher since I was very young, and it is so much more than I ever dreamed it could be. I find teaching to be where my heart is, and educating children each day in academics, and life, is so rewarding to me.
I enjoy spending time with my friends, my husband, Steve, and our beautiful and fun children, Sophia and Benjamin. I have two chocolate labs who appear in many of my written memory moments in class! In my nineteen years of teaching, I have had many wonderful and fun learning experiences. I believe in a student-centered classroom and experience-centered learning. My goal is to get to know each child’s learning styles, interests, backgrounds, and needs so as to aid my students in achieving their personal best and to become life-long learners. I am eager to participate in this educational experience with you!
My hometown is West Chester, PA. where I attended West Chester University for both my undergraduate (Magna Cum Laude, B.S. Ed. 2003) and grad work (M. Ed. 2008). I also began my first teaching experiences in West Chester as well, starting with 7th grade Language Arts and Social Studies, then moving down to the elementary level teaching 3rd grade!
It was the year 2006 that eventually brought me to Boyertown. I started teaching 2nd and 1st grades in the Boyertown Area School District. Next, I taught third grade for several years. Now, I am excited to be teaching first grade once again! While I'll always hold West Chester close to my heart, Boyertown and Oley (where I live) are my "new hometowns!" Something I really enjoy are sunsets! The most awesome thing about where I live is that no matter the season or weather, I can always walk outside and see a really cool sunset over a corn field. So I wake each morning looking forward to seeing all of my students, and I end each day looking forward to sharing a beautiful sunset with my kids at home!
