Life is like a book with many chapters. Transitioning to seventh grade at West is just another chapter in the book of our lives. Let me start that chapter for you by extending a warm welcome to ELA 7 and to the world of reading, writing, and thinking. Together, we will be reading and examining and writing about many types of literature to understand meanings, themes, and motivations. Furthermore, we will examine how literature and writing applies to our lives and to society. Reading is an integral part of our lives because, as Dr. Seuss writes, “The more you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”
