Fundraising February and Let's "Glow" Crazy

Student Council and FBLA have come together to create something new in the hopes of rekindling the school spirit flame.

In an effort to do this, we are creating a month-long fundraising competition. Through this fundraising event, we will be collecting money, school supplies, and non-perishable items with the schedule listed below. Throughout the month of February, we will be conducting weekly competitions where the classes will battle against each other to earn points. These points will culminate until the week of the Let's "Glow" Crazy Dance on March 3rd, where we will announce the class that has earned the most points in the month of February.  Weekly points leaderboards will be displayed on TV News but the final tally and victory will be saved for the big reveal on March 3rd at the GLOW Dance.

WEEK 1 (February 6th-10th)COIN STALL  *    Each subject area will have a day of the week where students can "stall class" by bringing in change and placing it in their class's container.  Class remains stalled for that period until the teacher counts the change that students bring in.  To avoid it being a distraction for the entire week... each subject has a "day" that can be stalled.

    Monday - Math

    Tuesday-Science

    Wednesday - History/Social Studies

    Thursday - ELA

Friday - Special Areas (like gym, world languages, and Electives)WEEK 2 (February 13th-17th)SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE  *    Homerooms will be given bins with their homeroom section listed on the front.  Each packaged school supply donated will add 1 point to the total for the donations for the student's class.  Students may not break a box of pencils into individual pencils... if they come in a package, they are one item.  *   School Supplies will be donated to BASH's new school supply closet that will help students that are unable to afford back-to-school supplies.  *   School Supplies needed will be pens, pencils, highlighters, binders (new or lightly used), notebooks (new or lightly used), folders (new or lightly used), notecard packs, and sticky notes. WEEK 3 (February 20th-24th)NON-PERISHABLE FOOD ITEMS  *   Homerooms will retain their bins from the School Supply Drive.  Each nonperishable food item donated will add 1 point to the total for the donations for the student's class.  *   Items that are expired or unusable will not count toward the total.    *   Food Items will be donated to the Salvation Army and Preston's Pantry to help provide meals to hungry families in Boyertown.  *   Suggested food items include: applesauce, canned chicken and canned fish (tuna and salmon), canned meat (SPAM and ham), canned vegetables, fruit (canned or dried), granola, meals in a box, pasta, peanut butter, soups, stews, and chili

Student Council made a difficult decision to forego Mini-Thon this year in favor of supporting a cause that is important to so many people in our school community.  While we believe very much in supporting Childhood Cancer Research and continue to support Four Diamonds, we cannot ignore the many issues and hardships that the kids, families, and community members face around us.  We (Student Council and FBLA) have joined forces to help our own community through Fundraising February. We will be making several donations to Boyertown Multiservice and The Salvation Army.WE CANNOT DO THIS WITHOUT YOU. Your support and participation are vital to the success of this event. We wish to regain school spirit and volunteerism in the community through this event. Lets "GLOW" Crazy (MARCH 3) 7:30 - 10:30 PM  *  THIS WILL NOT BE A FORMAL DANCE

      *  Guest passes will be accepted February 6th-15th

      *  Ticket Sales will be February 20th-24th

      *  This will be in place of the harvest ball-so harvest ball tickets will be valid for this event  *   Winners will be announced for the Class Battles. The winning class will receive a HUGE REWARD FOR THOSE WHO PARTICIPATED IN FUNDRAISING FEBRUARY!

                          *  There will be a list of participants for each class so we know who will be able to partake in the reward

      *   All students that buy a ticket to the dance will receive a FREE CHICK-FIL-A Sandwich at the dance with their ticket stub!  *   $5 from each ticket will be donated to corresponding charities

     POWDERPUFF FORMS

    Powderpuff - Players

    Powderpuff - Cheerleaders

Applications for junior and senior Powderpuff players and cheerleaders are below.  You will need to print out both the appropriate form (player or cheerleader) and fill it out.  Once complete, put the Letter, Permission Form, and money in an envelope and then put that in the drop box outside of 419.  All forms and money  must be turned in by Friday, September 30 @ 3PM.  Practice and game info are on the form.

Also, please note that Student Council did not pick the date.  Powderpuff is always played the Monday after the last varsity football game of the regular season.  In the case of this year, that means the game is on Halloween.   It is what it is and we are just going to embrace it, which explains the color choices for this year.
