Hello Seniors!
Do you plan on entering the workforce right after graduation? If so, please read the information below!
We are excited to share local employment opportunities for graduates through East Penn Manufacturing, Co (Deka Batteries). East Penn’s high school outreach initiative gives graduating seniors the opportunity to take the next steps towards their future with a fulfilling career with East Penn. This could be a great option if you plan on entering the world of work post-graduation.
East Penn would like to present this information to students who may be interested in the opportunity! We are offering an in-person presentation on March 28th at 9:15am (FLEX). East Penn will introduce prospective employees to their application process and answer any questions. Once you apply, East Penn will schedule an interview with the possibility of an on-the-spot job offer.

There will be an informational meeting held for any student entering 10-12th grade who would be interested to hear about our BASH IT Department Internship.
Date: This Thursday, 3/23
Time: FLEX, 9:15am
Location: In the library- Room 519
Information on the IT Internship: The Boyertown Area School District Information Technology Department is located within the high school. The BASH I.T. Interns assist the department and student body by working the student helpdesk located in the library. In addition to learning technical problem-solving skills, this program promotes communication and responsibility skills. This summer HOPE church is offering a College Essay Academy course to help prepare current Junior’s for their Senior year and any college they would apply to (Common App Accounts will be set up). Hope Community Church desires to equip young people in the community. They are offering this course at a discounted price. The class is limited to 20 students. Attached is a flyer for a great educational summer opportunity! LVHN Emergency Medicine Institute will be hosting a full-week in August dedicated to Teen EMS Camp. This camp is a great opportunity for students interested in health or public safety careers. The flyer lists all the fun and educational activities planned, including a field trip to Dorney park and certification courses for CPR, First Aid, Stop the Bleed, and Safe Sitter. Throughout the week, students will be exposed to various health and public safety professionals talking about their career. Finally, students will have the opportunity to tour Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest which includes the MedEvac helicopter and Stroke Ambulance.

Link Crew is a high school transition program that welcomes freshmen and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their high school experience. As positive role models, Link Crew Leaders are mentors and student leaders who guide the freshmen to discover what it takes to be successful during the transition to high school and help facilitate freshman success.
Please complete and submit this Leader Application by 11:59 PM on March 24th, 2023. Be sure to READ and complete everything before submitting. Completion of the application does not result in an automatic acceptance into Link Crew. If you have any questions, reach out to myself or Mr. Houck.

Reading Hospital School of Health Sciences is offering a shadowing opportunity! This shadow program is designed to provide a great opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to shadow in the OR environment at Reading Hospital. - This week the counselors visited all junior, social studies classes to discuss Career Exploration. Parents can access the Career Exploration slide show on the School Counseling website’s, presentation link by clicking HERE. Following the lesson, students were asked to complete a survey gauging where they are on their Career Journey. These results will be reviewed by their School Counselor to promote discussion during course selection meetings.
The School Counselors provided all juniors with a handout outlining important tasks they should consider and/or complete between now and the start of their senior year. That handout can be accessed by clicking on JUNIOR’S Next Steps Worksheet.
- Attached is a flyer about the Lehigh Valley Health Network 2023 Spring EMT Program.
This is a great opportunity for high school students, especially seniors, who are either looking to pursue a healthcare career or are looking to obtain a job in the healthcare field.
Many healthcare related fields, such as Physician’s Assistant programs, require students to be an EMT or at least have patient contact hours prior to enrollment, which this program provides.
Lehigh Valley Health Network will also be holding a Monday through Friday July EMT program this summer. Registration will be available soon for the summer EMT program.

- The Reading Hospital School of Health Sciences would like to announce new scholarship opportunities that are available to their Nursing, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, and Surgical Technology students. The purpose of these scholarship programs is to provide educational financial assistance to our future healthcare providers.
