    PENNSYLVANIA'S CHILDREN'S HEALTH INSURANCE PROGRAM (CHIP) NOTICE

    CHIP is a program to provide health insurance to uninsured children and teens who are not eligible for Medical Assistance (also known as Medicaid).

    Qualifications are based on family size and income and whether your child or teen meets the following requirements:

    • Younger than 19 years
    • A  U.S. citizen, U.S. National, or qualified noncitizen
    • A resident of Pennsylvania
    • Not eligible for or enrolled for Medical Assistance

    Information for Grandparents: If you are a grandparent, coverage for your grandchildren is not based on your income unless you have legally adopted the children.  Read more about whether you are covered at Information for Grandparents.
