• Emotional Support (ES)

The district provides Emotional Support to students determined to be eligible for services due to an emotional or behavioral disability. Students in the Emotional Support (ES) classroom are provided the same academic opportunities as their non-disabled peers, delivered by specially trained staff skilled in emotional, behavioral and de-escalation strategies. Students have access to school-based individual and group counseling by certified therapists and speech and language services to address social skills and language related needs. Explicit teaching in self-regulation, behavior modification, social skills, and de-escalation strategies are incorporated to equip students with the skills necessary to be successful in all settings.
